Drape privacy policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026. Applies to the Drape web app, the "Try on with Drape" store button and the Drape Chrome extension.
What Drape does
Drape shows which colour of a garment suits you. You can use a sample person without any photo, or your own face and full-length photos. Drape uses the YouCam API by Perfect Corp. to read your colouring and to show garments, lip colour and earrings on your photo.
Data we handle
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your face and full-length photos (only if you choose to upload them) | Sent to the YouCam API to read your colours and render try-ons. Photo metadata (location, camera) is removed on upload. | Deleted after 24 hours, or immediately with "Delete my photos". YouCam keeps task results for up to 24 hours. |
| Try-on results (images) | Shown back to you. | Deleted with your photos. |
| Your colour reading (colour values, not the photo) | To sort products and pick a lip shade and metal. | Deleted with your session. |
| Anonymous demand counts (product, colour, warm/cool/neutral) | So a store can see which colours shoppers asked for. No photo, name or account. | Kept as counts; the link to your session is removed when you delete it. |
| A daily, salted hash of your network address | To limit free live try-ons per visitor per day. | Not stored as a raw address; changes every day. |
The Chrome extension
The extension asks for one permission, activeTab. Only when you click its icon, it reads the address of the
page you are on and asks Drape whether a seller has added that product. It never reads or changes the page's content, runs
no background code and stores nothing. The address is not saved.
What we never do
- No accounts, no advertising, no tracking cookies, no selling or sharing of personal data.
- No use of your photos to train models.
- No checkout or payment inside Drape: you pay on the store's own website.
Third parties
Photos are processed by the YouCam API (Perfect Corp.). Drape runs on Cloudflare. The stores you buy from have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
Use the sample person to try Drape with no photo at all. Delete your photos at any time with "Delete my photos" in the app; everything else expires after 24 hours.
